Our Story

Unique jewelry pieces created from the natural elements of the Caribbean islands.

Atelys is a self-taught jewelry designer originally from the Dominican Republic. Her passion for jewelry led her to start handcrafting her own. After selling a few pieces off her neck, she decided to turn her passion into a part-time job.

Her jewelry is versatile and eclectic in both style and technique.  This is reflected in her pieces which combines a wide range of materials such as Argentium silver, Larimar, semi precious stones, fresh water pearls, sea glass etc. and her use of techniques such as wire wrapping, silk knotting, metal stamping and metal smith work.

Each piece is carefully crafted by her in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, inspired by nature and her Caribbean surroundings. She imagines and anticipates the final result until it is completed, becoming something she loves and would proudly wear herself.

Larimar

Atelys loves working with Larimar — a rare blue stone variety of the silicate mineral Pectolite, found only in her home country of the Dominican Republic. Larimar has a distinct color and pattern that makes it hard to confuse with any other stone.  Atelys travels to the Domincan Republic several times a year to hand-pick her stones, which can vary in color from light to deep blue.

Sea glass

Sea glass is glass that has been physically and chemically weathered from being tumbled in the ocean. Decades of being tossed around in the sea smooths the sharp edges of the glass and transforms it into a rounded, colorful “gem.”
All jewelry by Atelys is made with sea glass found on the beaches of Grand Turk & Salt Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands and The Dominican Republic, unless otherwise noted.
